I'm a first-generation Cuban-American artist from Miami, FL, currently based in Portland, OR.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, mostly practicing drawings of mi abuela or some cats. I've experimented with every medium i could get my hands on over the past ten years, and fell in love with painting (watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oil, cafecito on occasion), printmaking, and digital art. My studies in cultural anthropology inform my approaches to art.
I have an appreciation for the natural sciences and often find myself inspired by illustrations in old textbooks, as well as the magic of Madre Tierra. A constant curiosity to learn about people and the world they occupy fosters endless inspiration.
Aesthetically I love to bridge old-world illustration styles with modern perspectives, aiming to be as informative as expressive.
I'm always open to commission work in painting, digital illustration, or any other graphic media. I'm also eager to continue to work in video, so hit me up for pre-production research consultation work, art dept. roles, script supervisor, or assistant editing.
